# How do I install Vidiyo?

Vidiyo is a signed, notarized Mac app distributed as a DMG to invited beta members. Installing it takes a couple of minutes once your invite is approved.

## What are the system requirements?

Vidiyo runs on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later) with macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Check yours in Apple menu → About This Mac. You also need an approved beta invite, an internet connection for sign-in and the one-time model download, and disk space for your projects.

## How do I get the download?

Downloads are only available to invited members. [Request access](https://getvidiyo.app/request) first. When your invite is approved, go to the [download page](https://getvidiyo.app/download), sign in with the email your invite went to, and enter the 6-digit code we email you. The page then shows the latest version and a **Download for macOS (Apple Silicon)** button.

If the page says no build is available yet, we haven't published one for your group. We email the invite list when there is.

## How do I install the DMG?

Open the downloaded `.dmg` file and drag **Vidiyo** into your **Applications** folder. Then open Vidiyo from Applications or Spotlight. The app is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without extra steps.

## How do I sign in to the app?

Type the same email you used on the website, then enter the 6-digit code from the new email. There is no guest mode: the app shows only the sign-in screen until you're signed in. Codes expire after 15 minutes.

Once signed in, the app keeps working offline for up to 7 days after it last reached our server. After that, it asks you to reconnect, and picks up your saved session without a new code once you're online.

## What happens after the first launch?

## How do updates work?

Updates download automatically. A banner tells you when one is ready and what changed, and it installs when you restart. If a build is too old to keep running, Vidiyo shows an update screen with the message "Update Vidiyo to keep using it." Let a running export finish before you restart.

## Steps

1. Check your Mac: Apple menu → About This Mac should show an Apple chip (M1 or later) and macOS 14 or later.
2. Request access, then wait for the email saying your invite is approved.
3. Open the download page, sign in with the invited email and enter the 6-digit code from your inbox.
4. Click Download for macOS (Apple Silicon) and open the downloaded DMG.
5. Drag Vidiyo into the Applications folder.
6. Open Vidiyo from Applications or Spotlight and sign in with the same email and a new code.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Vidiyo run on Intel Macs?

No. Vidiyo needs an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. There is no Intel, Windows or web version.

### Why does the app say my email isn't on the beta list?

Vidiyo is invite-only, and that message means the email you typed has no approved invite. Check you used the exact address the invite went to, or request access if you haven't yet.

### How do updates work?

Vidiyo downloads updates in the background and shows a small banner when one is ready. Restart when it suits you and the update installs. A short What's new note appears once after each update.

### How long is the sign-in code valid?

Codes are 6 digits and expire after 15 minutes. If one doesn't work, send a new code from the same screen.

### How do I uninstall Vidiyo?

Quit the app and drag it from Applications to the Trash. Your projects stay where you saved them, since they are ordinary files on your Mac.
