# Vidiyo for agencies: client videos and revisions by chat

> TL;DR: Vidiyo helps agencies and freelance editors get through client revisions on a Mac. Pin each client note on the exact frame, then send one or all of them to the AI with Fix with AI. Each project carries the client's colors, fonts and caption style, linked so one change restyles everything. Posts schedule through Buffer.

Agency video work is mostly revisions: the edit is done, then the notes arrive. Vidiyo is a Mac video editor you direct by chat, and it's built around turning notes into edits quickly. Each note is pinned to the frame it's about, and one click hands it to an assistant that can see that frame.

## What does an agency need from a video editor?

Agencies need throughput on short client videos: the same handful of formats, many clients, many rounds of notes, and each client's look applied correctly every time. The creative calls are yours. The slow part is the mechanical work between them: finding the moment a note refers to, nudging timing, swapping a color, recaptioning after a re-cut.

## How does a client revision work in Vidiyo?

A revision round looks like this:

1. **Collect the notes.** Clients send notes however they like. Paste or retype each one as a comment.
2. **Pin each note on its frame.** Press **C** and click the spot on the video ("logo too small here"), or **N** to comment at the playhead ("cut this pause"). Pins show on the preview, the timeline's Comments lane and the Comments panel.
3. **Fix one, or all.** Click **Fix with AI** in a thread to send that note, or **Send N comments to AI** in the Comments panel to send them together.
4. **Check the result.** A short preview renders under the assistant's reply. Resolve the comment when it's right, or reply in the thread.
5. **Undo cleanly.** If the client reverses a note, ⌘Z removes everything that request changed.
6. **Export and deliver.** Export the MP4, or schedule it to the client's channels through Buffer.

The assistant's own findings (from a critic review or the export check) appear as comments too, so everything to fix is in one list.

## How do I keep each client's brand consistent?

Each project's **Brand** tab holds the look: a palette or custom primary, secondary, text, background and on-primary colors; heading and body fonts; the subtitle style; and a motif for motion scenes. Text, shapes, captions and motion graphics link to those values. When a client changes their brand color after the edit is done, change it once and every linked element updates in one undo step.

Brand looks are per project. For a client with several videos, set up the first project, then ask the assistant to apply the same colors, fonts and caption style in the next.

## What can I say to Vidiyo during revisions?

Paste the client's words or translate them into an instruction. Requests that come up in revision rounds:

- "Make the logo bigger in the end card."
- "Swap the music for something calmer and keep it under the voice."
- "Cut the second example, it runs long."
- "Change every caption to the client's yellow."
- "Hold on the product shot a beat longer before the card slides away."
- "Use the client's heading font on all the titles."
- "Make a vertical version for Reels."
- "Warm up the color to match the other videos."

## Which features matter most for agencies?

The review and brand tools carry most of the load.

| Agency need | Vidiyo feature |
|---|---|
| Notes tied to exact moments | Figma-style [comments](https://getvidiyo.app/features/comments-fix-with-ai) on a moment or a point on the frame |
| Turning notes into edits | **Fix with AI** per note, or send all open comments at once |
| Client looks | Brand tab with linked colors, fonts, caption style and motif |
| Fast restyling | 12 caption presets, Animate presets, Style options for text and shapes |
| Safe changes | One undo step per AI request; plan mode to approve big edits first |
| Delivery | MP4 export, plus [board, calendar and Buffer scheduling](https://getvidiyo.app/features/content-calendar-and-scheduling) |
| Cover images | Thumbnail studio with versions side by side (needs your own OpenAI or Gemini key) |

## How do I manage several clients' pipelines?

Use the **Board** and **Calendar**. Each idea card holds a brief, script, stage and planned date, and links to one video project. Stages run Idea, Scripting, Filming, Editing, Scheduled and Posted. The Calendar shows a month grid and a Posts list grouped into Needs attention, Upcoming, Drafts and Published. Buffer holds the clients' social accounts; Vidiyo sends a post there only after you review and approve it.

## Can I use Vidiyo alongside my main editor?

Yes. Vidiyo exports standard MP4 files (H.264 with AAC audio) and SRT caption files, and it imports SRT, MP4, MOV and common audio and image formats. A common split is to rough-cut and caption short social versions in Vidiyo while long-form or heavily graded work stays in your main editor. Projects are ordinary files on your Mac, so you can archive them with the client's other assets.

## What doesn't Vidiyo do for agencies yet?

The biggest gap is client review. There's no review link for clients to watch and comment in a browser, so you transfer their notes yourself. Brand looks live in each project rather than a shared library. There's no multi-editor collaboration. Colour tools are basic (looks plus exposure, contrast, temperature and similar sliders), not a grading suite. Timelines stop at 5 minutes and export at 1080p, 30 fps, which suits social and ad work but not long-form delivery. Buffer's free plan covers three channels, so several clients usually means a paid Buffer plan.

## Why does running on my own AI plan matter for an agency?

You don't pay per seat for AI credits on top of the editor. Chat runs on the Claude Pro or Max or ChatGPT plan you already have, through Claude Code or Codex. Vidiyo is free during the invite-only beta. [Download Vidiyo](https://getvidiyo.app/download) to try it on a revision round.

## Honest limits

- No client review link. You pin clients' notes yourself.
- Brand looks are per project. There's no shared library across projects yet.
- No collaboration or shared projects; one editor per project.
- Colour tools are basic.
- Timelines max out at 5 minutes; export is 1080p at 30 fps.
- Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can clients leave comments in Vidiyo directly?

Not yet. There's no client review link, so clients send notes the way they do now, and you pin each one on the frame in Vidiyo. From there, Fix with AI hands the note to the assistant.

### How do I keep a different brand look for each client?

Set it in each project's Brand tab: palette, heading and body fonts, subtitle style and a scene motif. Brand looks are per project, so set up each client once per project or ask the assistant to apply the same values.

### Can one revision be undone if the client changes their mind?

Yes. Everything one chat request changed undoes in a single step with ⌘Z, and manual edits undo as usual. Undo history is saved with the project.

### Can I schedule posts to a client's accounts?

Yes, through Buffer. Connect the client's channels in Buffer and the key in Vidiyo's Settings, then review and approve each post. Buffer's free plan covers three channels.

### Does client footage leave my Mac?

No. Editing, transcription and export run on your Mac. The assistant sends transcript excerpts and the still frames it inspects to Claude or ChatGPT under your plan, and an export leaves only when you approve a post.
