Privacy

Vidiyo is in beta, and we collect more than a finished product would so we can find problems and improve it. Here’s exactly what, and what stays on your Mac.

## We record

- Your sign-in email address
- When you download the app, with your browser’s user agent
- How you use the app (screens opened, features used, errors)
- The full text of your AI conversations, with images removed

## Stays on your Mac

- Your video, audio and image files
- Your projects and exports
- Settings you connect (such as Buffer), stored encrypted

## Account and downloads

To sign in, we store your email address and send you one-time codes by email. If you requested access, we keep the name and note you gave us, and the link code you arrived with (the `?ref=` part of a link in one of our posts, which your browser remembers for 30 days) so we know which posts bring people in. Each time you download the app we record the time, the version and your browser’s user agent, so we know which builds people are running.

## App usage

The app sends usage analytics to our own backend: which features you use, how long tasks take, and errors or crashes, tied to your beta account. This tells us what’s working and what’s broken. It doesn’t include your media, file names or credentials, and no third-party analytics service receives it.

This website records invite requests and download clicks. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate, cookieless page counts: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and nothing tied to you. It also keeps first-party counts of which kind of site sent visitors (for example an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Perplexity) and which page they landed on, as daily totals with no IP address or identifier. It uses no advertising trackers.

## AI conversations

During the beta we store the full text of your conversations with the assistant: what you ask, what it replies, and the edits it makes. Images and video frames are stripped out before anything is stored. We read these conversations to understand where the assistant gets things wrong and to improve it.

Separately, the assistant runs on the plan you connected: Claude through your Claude Code sign-in, or ChatGPT through your Codex sign-in. To make an edit it sends your request, transcript excerpts, the project’s edit list and the still frames it inspects to that service. Anthropic’s or OpenAI’s own terms and privacy policy apply to that traffic. Your sign-in stays with Claude Code or Codex; Vidiyo doesn’t store it.

## Your media and connected services

Footage, audio and images are imported, edited, transcribed and exported on your Mac. They aren’t uploaded to us. Features you turn on yourself send what they need to that service: publishing sends the finished video, caption and title to your own storage bucket and Buffer, and stock search sends your search terms through our server to the stock provider (such as Pixabay). We cache search results briefly so repeat searches are fast.

Credentials you enter in Settings are stored encrypted on your Mac and are only sent to the service they belong to. We never receive them.

## Deleting your data

Email [privacy@getvidiyo.app](mailto:privacy@getvidiyo.app) from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete your data. We’ll remove your account, download records, usage analytics and stored conversations, and confirm by email. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold.

To remove the app, quit it and drag it from Applications to the Trash. Your projects stay where you saved them.

## Changes

If what we collect changes, we’ll update this page and let beta members know.
