Terms

The rules for using the Vidiyo beta and this website, in plain language. Last updated 8 October 2026.

## Who we are and what these terms cover

Vidiyo is a video editor for Mac made by Ajay Pawriya (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the Vidiyo app, your beta account and getvidiyo.app. By requesting access, signing in, downloading or using Vidiyo, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Vidiyo.

Our [privacy page](https://getvidiyo.app/privacy) explains what we collect and why. It is part of these terms.

## The beta

Vidiyo is in an invite-only beta and is free during the beta. Beta software is unfinished: features change, some things break, and builds may stop working until you update. We may limit, pause or end access to the beta, or require a newer version, at any time.

## Your account

You need to be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to use Vidiyo. Use your own email address, keep sign-in codes to yourself, and don’t share your account or invite. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.

## Using the app

While you have beta access, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Vidiyo on your own Macs, including for commercial work. You may not:

- sell, rent, share or redistribute the app or its downloads;
- bypass sign-in, invite or download controls, or access our servers in ways the app doesn’t;
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it regardless of this term;
- use Vidiyo to break the law, infringe someone else’s rights, or make content that harasses or deceives people.

## Your content

Your footage, projects and exports are yours. We claim no ownership of them, and they stay on your Mac except as the privacy page describes. Make sure you have the rights to the media you import and the videos you publish, including music, stock media and other people who appear in them.

## The AI assistant

The assistant runs on the AI plan you connect: Claude through your Claude Code sign-in, or ChatGPT through your Codex sign-in. Anthropic’s or OpenAI’s terms apply to that use, including their usage limits, and you’re responsible for following them.

AI makes mistakes. It can cut the wrong word, mishear a caption or misread a frame. Review every edit before you publish. You’re responsible for what you publish.

## Other services and stock media

Some features connect to services you choose, such as Buffer, your own storage bucket, or your own OpenAI or Gemini key for thumbnails. Their terms apply, and we aren’t responsible for how they work or what they charge. Stock footage, photos, music and sound effects come with their providers’ licences (for example the Pixabay Content License). Check the licence before you rely on an item for commercial work.

## Feedback

If you send us ideas, ratings or bug reports, we may use them to improve Vidiyo without owing you anything. We’re grateful for them.

## Paid plans

The beta is free. If we introduce paid licences, we’ll show the price, what the licence includes and the refund policy before you buy, and update these terms. Nothing is charged without your explicit purchase.

## No warranty

Vidiyo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Keep backups of your original footage and important projects.

## Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost footage, lost profits or lost opportunities. Our total liability for any claim about Vidiyo is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

## Ending access

You can stop using Vidiyo at any time, and ask us to delete your data as the privacy page explains. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the service. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as your content, feedback, no warranty and limits on liability) survive the end of your access.

## Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Vidiyo changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and tell beta members by email about significant changes. If you keep using Vidiyo after a change, the new terms apply.

## Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to the courts of India, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
